Who Are We?

Yvonne Post and Denise Sheehan, Founders

We met in 2004 while training as Holistic Health Counselors and discovered that many of our personal visions were complementary. In 2005, we began our collaboration creating and developing programs while working at Vollmecke Orchards and CSA in Chester County, PA. We continue to work in the sustainable agriculture community and actively participate in the creation of our local food system including the opening of two local farmers markets, Anselma Farmers and Artisans Market in Chester Springs and the Farmers Market at Great Valley. Today we continue to expand our offering of programs and seminars in our range of expertise including cooking and nutrition with a focus on current health topics and issues, the local food system, and sustainable living. In 2009, Cooking For Real has added Cooking For Real - Fresh and Local Lunch and Catering including a daily fresh and local corporate lunch menu and catering options plus small
group and event catering featuring locally sourced, seasonal selections.

Yvonne's mission is to improve the connection to the local food system for everyone who crosses her path; to create a local, sustainable food system providing direct relationships between farmers and consumers and to introduce children, teens and adults to whole food cooking and nutrition through hands-on and demo/seminar programs in schools, corporate wellness, and camp programs.
